About the Assessment Navigation Tool

The Assessment Navigation Tool is our first and most important project. The goal of the Assessment Navigation Tool is to transform many aspects of the clinical interview, history, and progress notes into a “point and click” affair. In creating this tool, the challenge was to reduce the amount of typing involved in report writing and records without reducing the complexity and accuracy of the final product. We feel we have accomplished this with the Assessment Navigation Tool.

Assessment Navigation Tool is designed to adapt itself to your typical interview routine while allowing you the flexibility to enter free text when additional information is added. Whether you are typing your history during the interview or using your handwritten notes and history forms, Assessment Navigation Tool can help. Here’s how:

Assessment Navigation Tool allows you to convert simple “Yes and No” questions into finished and completed text inside of your working report. For example, imagine asking your client about whether developmental milestones were met. Then, rather than typing an elaborate response, you click two to three buttons and a completed sentence appears in your report. The sentence may say, “The client reportedly met all developmental milestones on time.” Alternately, it may read, “She indicated she learned to walk and talk on time but experienced a delay in toilet training.”

Assessment Navigation has features for rapid entry of text and includes options of including point-and-click diagnoses and recommendations. When you are finished, simply click the bottom of your screen and export the entire formatted report into the Microsoft Word letterhead of your choice. If you do not use Word, you can also export to Word Pad or paste your report into the word processor of your choice.

Assessment Navigation Tool also carries a robust and customizable feature for therapy progress notes. By using this feature many common statements and pieces of information can be automatically generated, imported from a past session, or selected with a few simple clicks of the button.
